Ukraine hit back to hold Belgium

Ukraine 1-1 Belgium
The hosts came from behind to earn a point as Roman Zozulya took just two minutes to cancel out Bia Mujangi's opening goal in Group 8.

Ukraine came from behind to draw 1-1 with Belgium in Group 8 as Roman Zozulya took just two minutes to cancel out Bia Mujangi's opening goal at the Valeriy Lobanovskiy stadium.

Petrov impresses
Chances were even in the first half with Radja Nainggolan squandering two early openings for Belgium before Simon Mignolet saved Volodymyr Lysenko's powerful drive. Ukraine finished the half strongly and carried their momentum into the second period with substitute Kyrylo Petrov, a member of last summer's UEFA European Under-19 Championship-winning side, particularly prominent.

Zozulya leveller
It was a substitution by Belgium coach Jean-François De Sart, however, which paid the biggest dividends. Soon after coming on Mujangi took a long pass in his stride and fired in with his second touch to put the visitors ahead on 67 minutes. Ukraine had hit back from 2-0 down to draw against France in their last fixture and they recovered again here when just two minutes later Zozulya headed in Pavlo Pashayev's cross from the right. The result leaves Belgium undefeated with seven points from three matches at the top of the section, two clear of Ukraine who are also yet to lose.
